Chicken-Liquor Party Turns Fatal: Man Kills Nephew Over Contribution Dispute

In a tragic incident in the Charagwan area of Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, a 26-year-old man named Manoj “Mannu” Thakur was brutally killed by his 19-year-old nephew, Dharam “Abhi” Thakur, following a dispute over contributions for alcohol and food (chicken) at a gathering. The argument escalated over the amount each had put in, leading to the fatal attack on Manoj.
According to the Times of India, quoting police, the youngest of four brothers and a local labourer, left his home on Wednesday morning but did not return that night. His body was later found with injuries. Nearby, police also found a wooden plank that appeared to be related to the incident.
The investigation revealed that Mannu was last seen with his nephew, Dharam, also known as Abhi Thakur, at the Chargawan market. During questioning, Dharam admitted to the incident, explaining that he and his uncle had been drinking together at a local liquor shop when an argument broke out over splitting the expenses.
Dharam has been formally charged with murder, and the investigation is ongoing. Dharam now faces serious charges under section 103 (1) of the BNS for the brutal killing of his uncle.
