Four Die of Electrocution While Installing Banner in, One Injured
Andhra Pradesh: Four men died due to electrocution on Monday morning in East Godavari district while attempting to secure a flex banner for the unveiling of a statue of social reformer Sardar Sarvarai Papanna Goud in Tadiparru village. One was severely injured and has been admitted to a government hospital.
The incident occurred as preparations were underway for the ceremony. The men accidentally came in contact with loose wires, which led to their deaths.
The deceased were identified as Bolla Veerraju (26), Pamarthi Nagendra (23), Marisetty Manikanta (28) and Kasagani Krishna (20). Their bodies were transported to the government hospital in Tanuku, West Godavari district, for a postmortem.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and directed officials to provide full medical care to the injured.
The chief minister announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh to the family of each victim.
