Angry Man Beats Bank Manager, Insurance Employee Over TDS Deduction On FD; Dramatic Visuals Surface
Ahmedabad: A heated argument over a Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) issue escalated into violence at the Union Bank Premchandnagar branch near Mansi Circle in Vastrapur on Thursday morning. The confrontation, which took place around 10.30 am, resulted in the assault of two individuals, including the branch manager and an insurance employee.
According to a complaint filed by the branch manager, Saurabh Singh, the incident began when Jaiman Raval, a customer from Bodakdev, visited the bank to inquire about TDS deductions on his fixed deposit interest. Despite receiving a thorough explanation about the refund process, Raval reportedly became enraged and accused the bank of misappropriating his funds.
In a fit of anger, Raval allegedly snatched Singh’s ID card, grabbed his shirt, and tore it. When Shubham Jain, an employee of SUD Life Insurance, attempted to intervene and calm the situation, Raval is said to have slapped him and ripped his shirt as well.
The altercation quickly escalated, but other bank staff and customers were able to restrain Raval before the situation worsened further. Singh immediately contacted the police, who arrived shortly thereafter to restore order at the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and Raval’s actions have raised concerns about the safety of both customers and employees in banking environments.
