‘Hear Our Plea’: Farmer, Kin Walk On Knees To Draw Attention To Land Problem
A farmer, his wife and three children walked on their knees at the sub-divisional magistrate office complex in Khategaon in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas on Thursday district to highlight their distress due to an alleged land dispute.
Farmer Lakshman told that my neighboring farmers have blocked the way to his field. “Due to this, I am not able to go to the field and I am not able to harvest the maize crop. The crop has been lying in my field for two months,” he said. The farmer added that he has applied to the authorities several times regarding the problem, but no solution has been found. Angered by this, he along with his wife and three children went on their knees to the SDM and demanded SDM Priya Chandrawat to provide a solution.
A video of the family’s act was accessed by Times Now on Thursday.
While discussing with the media, SDM Chandrawat said that “the concerned farmer Laxman had a dispute with the neighboring farmers regarding the road. Laxman has lost the case in the civil court. Therefore, no direct action can be taken in this matter. To help Laxman and as a humanitarian, we will try to help him in every possible way by sending Tehsildar and Patwari to the spot.”
