8 Dead as Bus Carrying 46 Passengers Falls into Drain

Bathinda: Eight individuals died after a bus traveling from Sardulgarh fell into a into the Lasada drain on the Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo road in Jiwan Singh Wala Village in Punjab. Meanwhile, several people have received injuries. The bus was carrying around 46 passengers. After the accident, the bus landed in shallow water, leaving several passengers severely injured. The injured were rushed to Bathinda Civil Hospital and Talwandi Sabo Hospital. A team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also arrived at the scene.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jagroop Singh Gill expressed grief, and announced to give a financial aid to those who were injured as well as to families of those who could not survive the fatal injuries in the accident.
He said, ‘This incident is very sad. 5 people died on the spot, while 3 people died in the hospital. Orders have been given to the CMO for better treatment of those who have been injured. The injured and dead will be provided financial assistance by the government. We will talk to DC regarding the matter. We pray to God that all the injured get well soon.”
