At 10.30 am, when we were heading to our respective classroom, the teachers present at the gate asked me to take off my burqa, which I refused to do. I told them they could carry out their checks, but I would not remove my burqa. The teachers refused to allow me inside. I called my father, who alerted the police,” the student told The Indian Express on Sunday The student, who is from nearby Beena School, said she had lost 20-25 minutes of precious time because of the controversy. “I could have used it for last-minute revision,” she added.
