
Team India won the Champions Trophy by defeating New Zealand on March 9. The Indian team became the champion of this tournament for the third time. In celebration of this historic victory, the BCCI has showered money on the entire team. The board has announced a reward of Rs 58 crore on March 20 for all the members associated with the team in the tournament including players, coaching staff. In its statement, the BCCI praised all the players including Rohit Sharma for their tremendous performance during the tournament.

BCCI issued a statement to announce the award. In this, it said, ‘Under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma, India dominated the tournament. The Indian team reached the final with four strong victories. The team started its campaign with a 6-wicket win against Bangladesh. Then it won brilliantly against Pakistan. They maintained their momentum by defeating New Zealand by 44 runs and finally defeated Australia by 4 wickets in the semi-finals.’
The board further said in its statement, ‘The BCCI is pleased to announce a cash prize of Rs 58 crore for Team India after winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This reward is being announced to honor the players, coaching and support staff and members of the selection committee. ‘ This means that the prize money will be divided among all of them. However, the board has not told who will be given how much money in this.
BCCI President Roger Binny said, ‘Winning consecutive ICC titles is very special, and this award on the global stage recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence. The cash prize is a recognition of everyone’s hard work behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC trophy after the ICC Under-19 Women’s World Cup win in 2025, and it reflects the strong cricket ecosystem that exists in our country.’
125 crores were received on the victory of T20 World Cup
Last year, the Indian team won the T20 World Cup trophy after 17 years. At that time too, the BCCI had completely opened its treasury for the players and support staff of Team India. The board had announced a prize money of Rs 125 crore for the team captained by Rohit Sharma. That prize was also distributed among all the players, selectors, coaches and supporting staff.
