Mumbai: The Mumbai Police Control Room received a death threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday, following which all security forces were put on high alert.
The caller demanded Yogi resign from the Chief Minister post in 10 days if he does not have to suffer a similar fate like ex-Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui. A senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar, Siddique died after he was shot by three individuals in Bandra East, Mumbai, on October 12 evening.
“If Yogi does not resign in 10 days, we will kill him like Baba Siddiqui,” the unidentified caller said in threat call to police on Saturday evening.
“Mumbai Police is investigating further in this matter. Police is also searching for the person who sent the message,” the source said.
