Four Women Held For Stealing Burnt Laptops, Fans And AC Parts From Fire-Ravaged Office
New Delhi: Four women were apprehended for theft at a refurbished laptop office in Delhi on November 3, 2024. The incident unfolded, when Constable Rahul, while on routine night patrol with Constable Amit Kanaujia, heard unusual noises coming from Building No. 203-A1, 2nd Floor, Madhuban Tower, Vikas Marg, Shakarpur, where Ask InfoTech, a refurbished laptop sales office, is located. Noticing that the main gate of the building was open, Constable Rahul promptly alerted the shop owner, Subodh Singh, who rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, Subodh Singh joined the constables in inspecting the premises. As they ascended to the second floor, they encountered four women attempting to flee with large white bags filled with items from the office. Acting quickly, Constables Rahul and Amit apprehended the suspects, who were found in possession of burnt laptops, parts from fans and air conditioners, and various metal items stolen from the premises.
This incident followed a fire on October 31, 2024, caused by a short circuit at Ask InfoTech, which resulted in significant damage to the office and the destruction of approximately 3,000-4,000 laptops. The suspected thieves seemingly took advantage of the damaged state of the premises, attempting to steal the remaining salvageable items.
As a result, a case has been registered under sections 305(A), 331(4), 317(2), and 3(5) BNS.
The suspects were identified as Naheda (22 years), Husani (23 years), Baby (22 years), and Parveen (23 years), all residents of Shyochalaya Wali Gali, Railway Colony, Mandawali, Delhi.
Further investigations are underway.
