Bengaluru airport: Foreign national taken into custody for causing disturbance and assaulting CISF personnel

A foreign national was arrested for allegedly creating a ruckus at Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL) and attacking CISF personnel.
The accused, identified as Foils Eliott Blair, 37, was booked for assaulting a woman, attacking a public servant, criminal intimidation and breach of peace. He has been placed under judicial custody, the police said.
Blair holds an Australian passport as well as a UK and Northern Ireland passport .The incident occurred between 10 pm and 11 pm on Wednesday at the departure area for terminal 2, which is mostly used for international flights.
According to the police complaint filed by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Sub-Inspector A K Mishra, Blair was behaving in an unruly manner in the departure area of Terminal 2 and was cautioned by CISF personnel but he refused to be restrained and allegedly attacked the personnel. He was trying to enter the departure area inside the airport building but did not possess a flight ticket, the police said.
The complaint states that the foreign national verbally abused the CISF personnel, obstructed them from carrying out their duties and attempted to attack both men and women staff deployed at the airport as well as passengers at the departure area .Blair was then detained by the BIAL police and placed under arrest. A police source said, “He seems to be mentally disturbed. He came on a tourist visa and had been roaming around India for several months. He was in Goa and other places. He wanted to return to the UK where he lived but had not purchased a flight ticket
