Tragedy strikes Tarn Taran as roof collapse claims lives of 5 family members
Five members of a family were killed after the roof of their house collapsed at Pandori Gola village, Saturday, police said.
The family was sleeping when the structure suddenly gave way. Local residents rushed to the scene, pulled them from the debris, and took them to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 am, claiming the lives of Gobinda (40), his wife Amarjit Kaur (36), their sons Gurbaj Singh (14), Gurlal Singh (17), and daughter Ekam (15).While the exact cause behind the collapse is still being investigated, preliminary findings suggest that a girder supporting the roof may have slipped, causing the collapse. Reports also indicate that the house was already in a deteriorated condition, and heavy objects placed on the roof may have contributed to the structural failure The incident has left the entire village in mourning, with grieving relatives struggling to cope with the loss.
