Create an effective system to solve problems of rehabilitation and employment – Arun Sao

Raipur, 24 October. The meeting of the District Rehabilitation and Resettlement Committee was held at Korba District Headquarters on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Korba district, Shri Arun Saw. In the meeting held at Korba Collectorate, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw reviewed in detail the pending compensation of land acquired by the plants of all the public sector undertakings established in the district and the updated status of providing employment. He directed the plants to quickly resolve the problems related to rehabilitation and employment of the land-displaced. He asked all the plants to resolve their pending cases soon. Industry and Commerce Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan, MLAs Premchand Patel, Tuleshwar Singh Markam and Phool Singh Rathia and Mayor Shri Rajkishore Prasad also attended the committee meeting.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw directed the plant management to prepare an effective mechanism to resolve the problems of rehabilitation and employment in the meeting of the District Rehabilitation and Resettlement Committee. He asked to provide relief to the affected as soon as possible without unnecessary delay in resolving the long pending cases. He asked the company officials to discharge their duties responsibly, so that a situation of law and order does not deteriorate in the district. For this, Shri Saw asked the responsible officials of the plant to go among the people and provide complete information about the provisions and rules.

In the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao inquired about the jobs and rehabilitation provided to the affected families in lieu of land acquired by SECL Gevra, Kusmunda, Dipka and Korba. He directed the SECL management to ensure compliance with the rules and provide employment and allowance to the affected people on time as per the rules. He also directed to provide essential facilities like education, roads, drinking water, health centers, Anganwadi, Muktidham in the settlements established under rehabilitation and also to repair them from time to time. He asked to create a green zone in the blasting area in the mine areas before settlement so that the effect of blasting in the settlements is reduced.

Shri Saav also inquired about the compensation, employment and other benefits given in lieu of land acquired by NTPC, BALCO, Lanco and Adani Plant and directed to benefit the affected people as per rules. He directed to provide employment to local people in as many plants as possible and pay honorarium at the prescribed rate. Collector Shri Ajit Vasant, Superintendent of Police Shri Siddharth Tiwari, DFO Shri Arvind PM and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Smt. Pratishtha Mamagai along with public representatives, Sarpanch of mining affected area and departmental officers were also present in the meeting.
